Basically, I have a product that has a relationship to a table of prices. The keyfield they share is Id Product in the Prices table.
I'm trying to make all the connections and transactions programmatically (Data Sets, Binding Sources and so).
I've already managed to connect with SQL Server Express 2008, using a Function ("consulta") inside a Module ("db"): Dim ad As Sql Data Adapter = New Sql Data Adapter Function consulta(By Val tabela As String, Optional opt As Boolean = False, Optional optparam As String = "") As Data Set Dim ds As New Data Set Try Dim connstring As String = "Data Source=NOTEBOOK\SQLEXPRESS; Initial Catalog=Sys Market; Persist Security Info=True; User ID=admin; Password=XXXXXX" Dim con Obj As New Sql Connection(connstring) Dim sql As String If opt = True Then sql = "SELECT * FROM " & tabela & " " & optparam Else sql = "SELECT * FROM " & tabela End If Dim cmd As Sql Command = New Sql Command(sql, con Obj) ad.
In the Fill/Get of the product I return the Price field.
I also have a Data Grid that uses a Binding Source which uses this table.
Someone could explain this to me or show me a example? If your query is based on a single table and you want to insert/update all the columns you retrieve back to that same table then a may be your best bet.
I have created a dataset and in the designer I have created the relations and foreign keys that exist in the database. Clear() Return ds End Try End Function Dim ds As Data Set = db.consulta("departamentos") Private Sub cad_departamento_Load(sender As Object, e As Event Args) Handles My Base. That gives you limited flexibility but if you're just doing single-table operations then you don't need that added flexibility. Save Changes("departamentos", "INSERT INTO departamentos VALUES('', " & Text Box2. You simply pass in the query and the command builder will use it to generate the action commands. This article is about storing and retrieving images from a SQL Server database using VB. I only used and saw used that stream method, like we also see in the code Neda shows. But are these images not much better showing what you mean? Actually the image field is just holding a reference to the page containing the binary data so we have to convert image into bytes. Best Regards, Neda Zhang Cor Ligthert on Fri, Hi Karen, I did not know that Imageconvertor class, while it as old as Methuselah. Description = "My next car" Dim ms As New Memory Stream() Picture Box1. Kareninstructor on Thu, Hello, First thing you need to explain is how are you working with SQL-Server data e.g. Load 'TODO: This line of code loads data into the 'North Wind Data Set.
